Allow more Dimensions (values) on Bar chart

  • Live

Avatar

Currently, the Bar chart is limited to show 10 Dimensions.
However, when the Dimension is e.g. "Country" you can easily go over the limit and therefore the chart will not show the complete data.

A solution might be to group remaining Dimensions as the "Other".

The limitations are increased from 10 to up to 15 dimensions on a bar and line chart with the ability to group others as an individual line/bar.

This should update the total at the top as well. Currently, the totals are misaligned based on what graph you use, as some contain 15 Dimensions even though the Bar Chart is limited to show 10 Dimensions.

Is there an ETA on this?

Hi Chays,

Thanks for following up.

Our team is actively working on this and many other Chart Improvements, which are planning to be implemented in the following months. As soon as there will be any updates, we'll notify users via this post.

Customer would like to have an option to see more stacked bar Dimensions.

I agree to this. We need more Dimensions for tracking performance of our team members on a specific metric, as we have over 10 team members.

Customer would like to see more Dimensions on a Line chart, not to be limited to 10.

User would need to display more than 10 Dimensions on charts (e.g. Bar Chart).

User's use case:
This would allow me to report on the real numbers we generate in HubSpot, thus allowing for accurate reporting in Databox.
Without that option I'm basically unable to communicate the proper numbers to my team.

Merged with: Ability to select more than 10 Dimensions for a Metric

Pulling keyword position from SEMrush pulls everything, unless you select the specific keywords in the Dimension option. The problem is that you can only select up to 10 keywords this way.

E.g. If you want to have 4 separate Datablocks, with keywords grouped by category, you cannot do that unless they are from separate Keyword reports in SEMrush.

Hi Nick,

Thank you for sharing your feedback.

The reason of pulling in all keywords data is that we sync data available via API, and it's not filtered due to users accessing any relevant data for their reports.

On the other hand, as you outlined, the limit on number of Dimensions selected is applied to some visualizations (Bar and Line charts). Our team is considering raising the limit, but we can not provide any ETA at the moment.
In order to select more than 10 Dimensions (keywords), I suggest using a Table, where you can set the number of rows. To select individual Dimensions (keywords) you should switch from ''Single metric'' option to ''Multiple metrics'' option (see screenshot).

Further, you can submit a request for Query Builder for SEMrush on our Roadmap here (roadmap.databox.com/b/metrics/) that could allow specific filtering options.

Does this help?

Merged with: Removing Dimension limit for SEMrush Keyword metrics

Hi Werner,

Thank you for submitting your request.

One way to show more than 10 Dimensions on a Bar chart is selecting ''Dimensions'' for x-axis (see screenshot), if this kind of report works for you.

Hi Sandra,

Thanks for the prompt reply, but I want to keep the x-axis time-based, so I can monitor and compare metrics over time.

Hi Sandra,

Selecting "Dimensions" for x-axis still only allows for a limit of 10.

Hi Sheila,

Thank you for sharing your feedback.

Have you tried what I've suggested to Werner in the comment above?
''One way to show more than 10 Dimensions on a Bar chart at the moment is selecting ''Dimensions'' for x-axis (see screenshot)''. You can also expend the Datablock throughout the whole Databoard in order to display more Dimensions.
Would this work for you?
