The existing color schemes make it difficult to compare metrics visually. In particular, for visualizations like stacked Bar Charts or a Pie Charts, if all the colors are a similar shade of blue it's difficult for the user to see which bar or slice represents which group. If there were a color scheme that contained various colors as opposed to different shades of the same color, we'd be able to read charts easier.

With the release of the new more powerful charts, we updated the color schemes, which will improve the readability of the charts.

User wants the color schemes for charts updated because as their client is having trouble reading the data because the color gradient is hard to distinguish.

Set in progress three months ago. Is there any update on this?

I recently had a presentation for our leadership team conference, and they loved the Reporting. However, the number one complaint was the colors on the bar graph are to similar of shades, and that was frustrating them. I really hope this gets added soon.

Agree on previous comments.
I would like to be able to edit the color scheme, even on a category level so that my B2C segment in Databoard is always in the same blue.

Hi Luc,
Thank you for sharing your feedback.
Can you please elaborate further on the following: ''...even on a category level so that my B2C segment in Databoard is always in the same blue.'', by explaining further your use case?
Thanks,
Sandra from Databox

Thank you, Sandra, for looking into this! Let me elaborate a little more.
We have a Databoard showing 16 Pie Charts. In 12 of those charts, light blue refers to the category 'no x-sell', and on 4 charts light blue refers to 'x-sell' instead of darker blue. This impacts the readability of the Databoard and leads to confusion.
Allegedly, this is based on the category with the highest share in the Pie Chart. However, I would like to always relate the color (shade of) blue to the same category.
Another example would be a Databoard with a Bar chart with multiple stacked bars.
I would like to assign the colors from a given color palette to specific categories so that the color scheme supports the readability. E.g., the lower minimum durations to the blue end of the palette, the higher minimum durations to the red end of the palette, and then yellow in the middle. In the current situation, the color assignment looks random.
It would be great if we could play around and align the colors to the categories the way we would prefer. Do you see what I mean?
Let me know if you would need additional inputs and many many thanks. Have a great day!

Hi Sandra,
I have posted my feedback here two times this morning, but I still don't see my input. Any chance you got my message despite that?
Thanks to let me know, thank you!
Sandra
Hi Luc,
Thank you very much for sharing the detailed context around your request. It makes totally sense.
I've also added your feedback in another respective post here: roadmap.databox.com/b/chart-improvements/setting-order-of-dimensions-for-metrics-with-dimensions/ - about which you should be notified.
And a quick explanation regarding comments:
I've seen all your comments and merged your feedback into 1 comment.
This site works in a way that you are not able to see or edit submitted comments until they get moderated and published. This may sometimes be unpractical. I'll share this feedback with the service provider as well in order to possibly improve this in the future. Thanks.
Have a great day!

Custom color themes would be a great addition!
