I've tested the basic integration and seems to be working fine.
I'm new to Databox so can't say much more right now. :)

We enabled Google Analytics 4 integration on all Databox accounts.

To connect Google Analytics 4 Property in Databox, navigate to Data Manager > + New connection. Type Google Analytics 4 in the search bar and click on the green Connect button.

To see a full list of all available Metrics for Google Analytics 4, please visit the Metrics Library here: app.databox.com/metrics/library/GoogleAnalytics4.

Note:
Integration is still in BETA.
We're eager to hear your feedback to help us ensure the integration meets user's needs.

GA4 is now the default property for new Google Analytics accounts. The old property type is hidden. All new users of GA will be unable to use Databox until this is supported.

Hi Phil,

Our team is actively working on this in order for Databox to integrate with Google Analytics 4.
We'll update our users on the progress here, on our public Roadmap.

In the meantime, there are a few ways to bring this data into Databox:
- Create a Universal Analytics Property for your website, and connect this property to Databox. You will be able to access all data that is available for the universal property, and create Custom and Calculated Metrics using that data. NOTE: The new Google Analytics property won’t include historical data from before it was created.

- Connect Google Analytics 4 via Firebase and BigQuery to Databox. Review the flow on how you can link Firebase to BigQuery and use Google BigQuery with Databox here:

Hi Sandra,

I know this.
The problem is that GA4 is now the default property for all new GA accounts and there is no warning from Google during the setup. Only experience GA users will know about the universal property and how to access it.
For our small businesses, it is not worth bothering with the workarounds, so we will just wait for the Databox fix.

Hi Phil,

Thank you for sharing this feedback.

Quick update I can offer here is that our team is already in the testing phase.

This is super important for us. My current company and others I am consulting for are now fully integrated with GA 4.

Most of my clients love their GA 4 data, and I don't want to move their reporting to this data platform until its live.
I'll try the workarounds for now.

I hear you John. We are in a similar position.
The solution I'm using as a workaround is adding a database to Firebase and then connecting it through Zapier. Hopefully that's a little helpful.

This will be huge for mobile apps, especially for all who are using Firebase (which is a huge amount according to market research data). Would love to connect my app to Databox!

An update on this is that we ended up going the Google BigQuery route. Databox seems to have access to the data, however it seems our query is off or something isn't exactly right because we aren't getting a Total Count of app events.
I will be connecting with the Databox team on Thursday to see what might be not correct.

Hi Benjamin,

Thank you for sharing your updates with us and other users.

And I can see you are already in contact with our team to help you get setup with BigQuery Custom Metrics in Databox.

Rather This

I can't connect with the Google Analytics (the new 4 one). The message "There is no web property" pop-ups.
It's very important to track analytics of the website, and link it to Databox!

Really need this ASAP. All GA accounts are being forced to utilizing GA 4 Property very soon. We have planned updates coming in Q1 2021, and if we do that our Databox connections become obsolete.

At CarbonWeb, we are a SEO and Marketing company amongst other things, have proactively switched all clients to GA4. The data insights are significantly better. We use Databox for all of our clients, and need to switch them once the new property is available.

We're in the same boat. We need this badly for our new clients who are going straight onto GA4!

We just launched a new website with a new GA property.
GA only allows us to use the GA 4 Property, so we can't use Databox for GA until this is implemented.

You are still able to use the GA Universal property.
Click on the "Advanced Settings" slider and you'll see the following options: create GA4 and Universal property, or create just a Universal property.

When do you plan to add this option to Databox?
Also, are there plans to add Firebase to Databox?
Thanks.
