Currently, you have to:
- delete old visualization type and add a new one, or
- resizing old Datablock and add a new Datablock in order to re-do the settings, before deleting the original (old) Datablock
It'd be more practical to have an option to swap the visualizations.

Good news! The functionality to switch between visualization types is now available and is part of a bigger batch of improvements. You can read more about it here: databox.com/new-visualizations-and-powerful-charts-2
It is possible to switch between all available visualizations when editing a Databoard in Designer. When previewing it (in-app or via Shareable Link) it is also possible to switch between a limited number of visualizations.

Yay!! Between this and color customization it feels like Christmas morning! Great news to start the week with. Thanks DB product team!

User would like to change the visualization type directly from Datablocks.

Customer would like to be able to change visualization types for existing Datablock, instead of having to recreate them in order to use a different visualization.

This will be really vital. Currently, it is very time-consuming and not user-friendly to set up Metric settings from scratch when changing the Visualization Type.
Really looking forward to this update.

I was looking forever for this setting, until I was informed that it strangely isn't a thing. Looking forward to having this in the app!

Customer would like to be able to swap visualization type without having to relink the data (e.g. Bar Chart to Line Chart).

Ability to replace the visualization of a Datablock without having to delete and re-add it.

This is huge for finding the best way to visualize data. I'm surprised this isn't a bigger item on the Roadmap.
Having to delete, re-add AND RECONFIGURE a Datablock takes time, so you will rarely play with the different visualization types - meaning you might not find the best way to visualize a data point, unless you are super knowledgeable of how every single visualization works.

Now, if I want to change the visualization type of a metric in Databoard, I've to add a new Datablock and configure everything from the start (Date Range, comparison, etc.).
It would be easier to be able to change the visualization type of the Datablocks/metrics after they have been added to the Databoard.
Example:
If I add a Number block and decide afterwards that a graph would make more sense, I want to simply change the selected visualization type.

Being able to change the Visualization Type without repeating the process of choosing a specific Data Source and its Metric.

There are instances where a certain Visualization Type doesn't work for that specific Metric, so I have to change to another Visualization Type, but it takes a lot of time on repeating the same process over again. And sometimes I use a Line Chart for presentation, but use a Gauge for Goals.
It would be really helpful if I could just duplicate the Databoard and change the Visualization Type, without repeating the process of selecting a visualization, specific Data Source, Metric and all other settings of a Datablock.
